Do you think we should tighten gun control laws by requiring background checks for all gun purchases or by banning high-capacity magazines that allow shooters to keep shooting without stopping to reload?

The type of victimization that likely comes to mind when you think about children being harmed at school is a school shooting. When a school shooting such as Columbine (1999), Sandy Hook (2012), and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (2017) does occur, it is difficult to watch the news or read the newspaper without hearing about the incident. Indeed, the media pay particular attention when the numbers of victims are high, as in the cases previously listed. Although they get heightened media attention, fortunately, school shootings are very rare. While these acts of violent victimization are rare, they often spark various points of debate regarding school shootings.
