Discuss the ways in which African Americans survived slavery and contributed to the economic and social development of the South and America, beginning with African and the African Slave trade.

In the introduction, I need a clear thesis of what this paper will be talking about. The paper should include in-text citations with the last page being the works-cited page. This paper should be double spaced and 4-5 pages. You can support the argument by citing specifc examples from my course lectures and readings from the class. In my paper, I must, first, discuss the ways in which African Americans survived slavery and contributed to the economic and social development of the South and America, beginning with African and the African Slave trade. Second, discuss how African Americans survived the institution of slavery and Africanized the American South. Finally, discuss how they helped free themselves from slavery by 1865 and founded institutions such as Black colleges, churches, banks, insurance companies, fraternities and sororities to uplift their race. One of the sources you can find information form is called “The African-American Odyssey.” You can also watch the film African American Many Rivers to Cross series (Episodes 1-3).
