Chapter 14
Discuss the relationship between computing power and results provided by simulations in terms of the usefulness and timeliness of the results. Explain the role of parallel computing in the ability to provide useful results. Consider the tradeoff between the expense of computational models and the value provided by the models, the real-world application of these models and how society could be impacted by the results. Explain whether you think the expense is worth the potential benefits of these types of computation models.
Chapter 14 and Chapter 15
Ethical Issue
We have learned about computer gaming and the wide variety of computer gaming options including a variety of platforms and genres from which to choose. Studies have been conducted on the topic of gaming as an addiction as discussed in the ethics section at the end of Chapter 14 as well as some extreme examples of the dangers of gaming in section 4 of Chapter 15. Research to find out more about the topic of gaming as an addiction and discuss your findings. Consider what, if anything, the video game industry should do to address the issue of gaming addiction.
