Module 2 – SLP
BUSINESS RESEARCH PROCESS
The purpose of this assignment is for you to familiarize yourself with the minimum
requirements needed to complete the DSP and graduate from the Trident DBA
program. You will need to identify at least three minimum requirements for the DSP
and build your ability to recognize how these requirements are integrated into
applied research studies. To complete this SLP, review the following material:
Chapter 1: Introduction, in:
Guzman, I., & Linski, C. (2021). The doctor of business administration (DBA)
program handbook 2021. Available in the Trident DBA guide at
https://careered.libguides.com/tui/cob/dba/forms_templates
Trident University (2021). Published doctoral study projects. Available in the Trident
DBA guide at https://careered.libguides.com/tui/cob/dba/published
The DBA Handbook is an essential resource that outlines the DBA program and the
graduation requirements. Chapter 1 of the DBA Handbook provides an overview of
the purpose of the doctoral study project (DSP), key differences between the DSP
and the Dissertation, types of research designs used in the DSP, and the minimum
requirements of the DSP. Please review Chapter 1: Introduction with particular
attention to the key differences between the DSP and the Dissertation.
Next, please visit the DBA guide and review one of the published DSPs that is of
interest to you and related to your potential research topic. You may access each
study by copying and pasting its title into the Trident Library search bar on the
Trident Portal page.
After reading the required background material and your selected published DSP,
write a 3- to 4-page paper (not counting the cover page and the page with
references) on the following:
1. Using Chapter 1 of the DBA Handbook, select three minimum requirements
needed to complete the doctoral studies project.
2. Describe and explain what each requirement is.
3. Identify and discuss how your selected published DSP study met each
requirement of the DSP.
4. Discuss how you as a future researcher might complete a similar study using the
minimum requirements you selected in your doctoral studies project.
