Determination of Sodium by Microwave plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (MP-AES)

In this experiment, the goal was to determine
the concentration of sodium in tap water, tonic and mineral water. A stock
solution had to be prepared to create a calibration curve for the MP-AES.
Unfortunately human error occured by preparing the stock solution and our group was
left with inaccurate results. We were provided correct results and now it needs
to be discussed and concluded what could have gone wrong that lead to an
inaccurate calibration and also to inaccurate results in the samples.

Most likely a wrong amount of the sodium chloride for the stock solution was weighed. The amount of sodium chloride was calculated correctly at 2.54g but most likely the scale was used wrong and not enough NaCl used for preparing the stock solution.

I have
provided the lab instructions as well as pictures of correct and incorrect
results. I would only need the discussion and conclusion part of this lab
report, if possible, because I already plotted the graphs. Referencing style is ACS (American Chemical Society).
