The quality improvement project that I am selecting focuses on reducing the rate of hospital-acquired pneumonia infections. This is in the hospital setting. Some of the interventions I had in mind for this project include: Appropriate hand hygiene for staff, appropriate isolation, wearing of personal protective equipment, adequate room ventilation, and following correct guidelines for cleaning. All of the interventions are intended to reduce the transmission rate of pneumonia-causing organisms.
