Describe the results of the Work Environment Assessment you completed on your workplace.

Clearly, diagnosis is a critical aspect of healthcare. However, the ultimate purpose of a diagnosis is the development and application of a series of treatments or protocols. Isolated recognition of a health issue does little to resolve it.

In this module’s Discussion, you applied the Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory to diagnose potential problems with the civility of your organization. In this Portfolio Assignment, you will continue to analyze the results and apply published research to the development of a proposed treatment for any issues uncovered by the assessment.

Here is the discussion post:
The civility of a workplace is particularly important for maintaining morale and overall success of an organization. According to Kinderen et al., (2020), high workplace civility positively influences the relationships among employees. The Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory is one of the resources used to determine the civility of the workplace. After taking this inventory it was determined that my workplace is mildly healthy because it scored a 75. There are many aspects about this job that I like such as the teamwork and willingness to help, fairness, how conflict is handled and how employees are seen as assets. There are some things they could improve on though, such as offering competitive pay and having a more reasonable workload. Their nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:60 and that is a heavy load. According to Sharma and Rani (2020), having the appropriate ration reduces med errors, pressure ulcers, falls, morale and overall patient satisfaction. Fixing these few problems would greatly increase the inventory score and boost the morale of the organization. According to Armstrong (2017), low workplace civility has the potential to cause distress emotionally and physically. As healthcare workers, we already have the tendency to put others first, so maintaining workplace civility is crucial. No one can pour from an empty cup for too long.
