To demonstrate the critical thinking and writing skills we’ve been practicing all semester, you must write a seven-page argumentative research essay on a food-related issue or controversy of your choice. Your essay must set forth a contestable thesis or claim–an arguable assertion–rather than just report unarguable facts or declare an unarguable opinion. And, of course, it should incorporate your research appropriately and effectively to support your argument and help explain your reasoning.
