Create a list of the legal/ethical issues presented by your topic.

Case Study — Step 1: Topic Selection ” Sexual Harassment”
Pick a current events topic that has been in the news during the last year which centers around a legal and/or ethical issue in the workplace. Each student must select his or her own case or topic. If there is overlap with other students topics, your instructor may guide your selection to focus on something unique.

Case Study — Step 2: Conduct Research on Sexual Harassment
This step–spanning over a number of weeks in the semester–asks that you to conduct research on your issue. Pay attention to researching if the issues are unique to an industry or a result of changing social norms. Keep notes of what you find in your research. Each of these components should be folded into your final paper.
Be sure to read news articles and gather as much information as possible about the issue. Good sources of information may be local newspapers, news websites and, in some cases, social media platforms such as Twitter. You may also find press releases written by the company involved posted on their website. Why is the issue in the news now and how does this impact people at the company?
Create a list of the legal/ethical issues presented by your topic.
Include the impact of technology and social media.Would your issue come to light without Twitter or Facebook? Is your issue caused by social media?
Case Study — Step 3: Analysis of Action to be Taken and Target Audience
Based on your research in Step 2:
Decide the steps that you believe need to be taken to resolve the issue.
Determine the audience of your memo. To whom are you writing and why did you choose that audience?
