I have a very strong interest in continuing my teaching career as a home and hospital instructor within District 75. I had a really great experience working in this program at P141K@35 during the summer of 2013, and I would love the opportunity to continue again this summer.

I have a diverse background and much to offer. For the past nine years, I have worked as a special education teacher in a 12 to 1 and 12:1:1 setting at KAPPA V in District 23, in Brownsville Brooklyn. For the eight years prior, I have had the opportunity to work with middle school children and adults of all ages while serving in different capacities within Region 5 of the Department of Education.
My first classroom experience was as a paraprofessional in a special education class where I worked with MIS II students. I have since continued to work in many varied capacities in special education. In addition, I have worked for the Young Adult Institute (YAI) for people with disabilities.

In February 2006, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from Touro College. I continued to pursue my education at Touro College where I completed a Masters of Science in Education & Special Education during the fall of 2007. My Bachelor of Science is from Lehman College where I majored in Computer Information Systems. My goal is to use technology to enhance learning in both general and special education.

I believe it takes a community of educators to make a lifelong impact on a child and I intend on being an integral part of the education community in which I serve. As a result, I have learned the value of being a team player and the importance of communicating with colleagues, parents, and administrators so that I will be able to provide the best education possible for all my students. I enjoy learning and meeting new challenges; so much so that even as a paraprofessional, I became the point person at my school for all matters concerning special education.

I have enclosed a copy of my resume, which details my academic qualifications and professional experience. I take great pride in being a teacher and I believe that my hard work and commitment to my students will make me a valued member of your staff. Thank you for your time and consideration.
