Control of land has been an essential part of what it means to be a free American from the founding of the country. What are some places where we see control of land impact the way people lived in the past? How does land either demonstrate or restrict freedom? Some things to think about might be Special Field Order 15, the transition to large-scale farming and migrant labor, or red-lining. You are always free to come up with your own examples based on the material from the course.
