Consider what value you place on a corporate code of ethics? Does it have the power to inspire change in behavior, or is it more of an exercise in window dressing? Compare the Enron scandal to the more recent Wells Fargo scandal. If both companies had corporate codes of ethics, why did such codes fail to promote the behaviors they described? If we assume that lapses in ethical conduct were major contributors to the scandals, what additional measures could have been taken to better promote/enforce the desired ethical behaviors? Next, conduct some research to identify at least one company that has implemented some of the measures designed to promote/enforce ethical behaviors that you have described.
