1.) In committed relationships, as described by the textbook (chapter 9), there is a list of gender power dynamics that again attests to the importance of understanding close relationships in relation to gender communication.
What is yours and your significant others perspective on the notion of conflict and its gendered patterns of responses in committed relationships?
Do you agree with the textbook? If so, please explain; if not, please explain.
2.) Explain whether you and your significant other agree with the list of characteristics provided by the textbook on friendships between women (Dialogue) OR on friendships between men (Doing).
If so, provide an example you consider significant to demonstrate one such characteristic.
If you do not agree, provide an example to demonstrate what needs to be added.
3.) Looking at the two main models listed for personal relationships in Chapter 9, select one of the models and explains what would be the benefit to study more that respective model.
For example, if you select the MDM (Male Deficit Model) what would in your view ONE benefit of studying the respective model for gendered communication based on your relationship
OR
If you select Alternative Path Model (APM) again, what would be in your view ONE benefit by studying it for gendered communication in terms of close relationships.
4.) What would you and your significant other add TO or highlight FROM Chapter 9 on Gendered Close Relationships?
Would it be a subchapter on social media and the construction of close gendered relationships online or only through online communication mainly (remote, long distance, etc)?
Would it be a subchapter on more studies on close relationships of same sex partnerships?
Would it be a subchapter on intercultural or international dynamics for a close relationship in terms of gendered communication?
