(based on the sources given)
In this short paper you are tasked with writing an introduction to a hypothetical philosophy paper.
This paper must be (broadly speaking) on the philosophical topic of civility, and should answer the following question:
In what contexts (if any) is it justifiable to be “uncivil” when engaging in an argument, debate, or political struggle?
Recall that a good introduction will:
1) Provide brief and specific context: invite your reader into an ongoing conversation.
2) Have a clear and concise thesis statement: feel free to use the phrase, “in this paper, I will argue that: _____” and then tell us what you will argue!
3) Provide a brief “roadmap” for how you will make that argument. Your thesis should be one (fairly short) sentence. You should then spend a couple more sentences clarifying and expanding on what that meacixns and how you’ll do it.
