With the first attachment (annotated_declarationofindependence), read the list of grievances of the colonists against the British government in the Declaration of Independence (found in the Annotated Declaration of Independence below in CANVAS) and briefly highlight which grievances were addressed by provisions within the Constitution of 1787 AND/OR the Bill of Rights (found in the Annotated Constitutions in the previous homework assignment). After this short analysis, do you believe that the grievances expressed by the colonists hold relevance, in any form, within contemporary American political culture and society? Please explain why or why not. When answering this part of the assignment, make sure that you refer to current political events (national and/or state) to state your case.

With the second attachment (Reading, and Misreading), please 1) briefly summarize the article; 2) analyze its relevance to our nation’s supposed “libertarian” founding outlined in the Declaration of Independence; and 3) note the relevance of the article to current implications of the Declaration of Independence in modern American political culture. In your first sentence of this part of the assignment, state the author and title of the work that you chose to analyze.

The relevant text must occupy four full pages, 12-point font, double spaced, one-inch margins. Attach your document WITHOUT your name on it. Do not use space to describe the assignment (Homework 1, Title, etc…).
