A reflection writing assignment is designated as the class essay. The writing serves two purposes: to demonstrate the depth and width of your understanding of operations management
contents; and to connect operations management concepts and knowledge to practical applications in your past or current job. You should analyze how an organization/company youve worked for can use OM strategies discussed in the textbook.To these ends, the essay should include three parts:
1. Briefly introduce four influential contributors of OM theories and their theories (30%)
2. Reiterate four out of the ten OM strategies listed in Table 1.2 on page 8 of the textbook. (35%)
3. Discuss three OM strategies that can improve the operations of the company/organization you are working/worked for. The three strategies could be same as the ones discussed in part 2. (35%)
To help you write the essay, two sample essays are posted in Blackboard with the link Essay Sample. Please read this syllabus and the samples before you start to write the essay.
The essay should be 5-6 pages, size 12 font, double spaced, and Word file. Please submit your essay through the Turnitin link in Blackboard and make
sure that the similarity in your essay is less than 15% in Turnitin originality report. You may resubmit the essay before the deadline if your similarity is more than 15%. Principles of Operations Management 10th Edition is the textbook.
