Observation Papers
For this assignment, please watch a 15-20 minute segment of any kind of interaction between people. You can use any video format including TV, YouTube, movies, news programs, podcasts, etc. The purpose of the assignment is to react to the interaction as a whole, and also to begin noticing specific skills and communication patterns you’re learning about in the course.
Instructions
1. Briefly describe the interaction you observed (no more than two pages, double-spaced)
2. Discuss your reactions and observations of the communication process between the people involved
3. Identify specific skills from the course/text that you noticed in the interaction (ex. listening, use of questions, etc.)
3. Share your thoughts about whether this interaction was positive/facilitative and allowed each person to communicate effectively, or whether it was not a productive interaction and why.
