Purpose of the Assignment: Your teaching plan is designed to enable you get the experience of presenting a nursing relevant topic to your peers in a safe and non-threatening environment.
What is Involved in this Assignment? In the teaching assignment, you will present the topic of your choice to your teacher (me) and the other students in your clinical group. Your topic should be medically related but something that interests you.
You will need to follow the rubric (attached) closely so I can give you a good grade
You need to submit a hard copy to me before you present of the following:
your learner objectives,
a copy of the Learner Evaluation Tool (attached) with learner objectives filled in,
an outline detailing the content to be taught,
a reference list in APA format and
the rationale for the specific teaching strategy(s) you used
You will be graded on creativity, clarity, accuracy of your presentation as well as ability to attract the learner’s attention
Reference list is a minimum of 3 sources (one reference can be a textbook)
Use of multi-modal teaching strategies gets you a better grade
You must distribute the Learner Evaluation tool to your audience after the presentation is complete.
Gear the teaching plan to your peers as that will be your audience
