For your first Artistic Expression Exercise, you will select one piece of art from these styles to engage with while having fun in the process. For this assignment, you will participate in a meme which became very popular during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic recreating a piece of art using yourself and household objects! To complete this assignment, select a piece of art from the first six weeks of class and recreate it with you or a consenting adult as the subject(s) and objects around you. Dress up, use props, etc. This is a chance to be creative! Include a picture of your recreated piece of art alongside a copy of the original artwork itself.

Next, write a brief 500 word essay. In this essay, you must discuss the original piece of art itself (the artist, the subject matter, medium and materials, and a brief history of the piece), why chose it, and your experience with this process.
No inappropriate materials will be accepted, i.e. nudity, profanity, racism, hate speech, or anything that may be viewed as derogatory towards a specific group.
