President Trump just tweeted that Jim Carroll has resigned., and that you are going to be his interim Drug Czar, the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. He also tweeted that you are currently reviewing his current drug policy to determine the following:
Are the transit, sale, and abuse of illegal narcotics a national security issues? Why or why not.
As a growing number of states decriminalize marijuana, should the U.S. focus its international efforts on other illicit drugs? If so, does the U.S. need to amend its import laws to allow for the legal importation of marijuana?
There is growing evidence that transnational criminal and terrorist groups profit from the growth, distribution, and sale of illicit narcotics worldwide. Even if the U.S. ignores the trafficking of marijuana, should it continue, expand, or reduce its diplomatic, economic, and military (including international law enforcement) efforts?
How does the U.S. counter arguments worldwide that it is increasing its restrictions against cigarette smoking while reducing restrictions against marijuana smoking?
If President Trump decriminalized marijuana at the federal level, should the U.S. national security apparatus continue to question and test its employees on the use of this drug?
Using these questions as a foundation, what do you see as the way-ahead for the President to outline his new strategy. The
