Eco Map Assignment
This is a three-part assignment. Students will provide a case study they choose, prepare an Ecomap based off that case study, and write an accompanying paper.
Each student will assess a case of their choice to create an Ecomap. A written case description should accompany the Ecomap to explain any graphics, legends, or pictures. A brief history should also be attached.
This paper should be typewritten, double-spaced, legible, use APA formatting with 3-4 pages. The content should focus on the difference between Genograms and Ecomaps and the use of an Ecomap with the client. The cover page and references do not count as part of the content.
Information for the Eco-Map can come from previous cases or cases that are developed through intake and individual counseling role plays conducted during the course. Names of real people should be changed for confidentiality purposes. The use of interviewing, active listening, consultation with others, and observation of clients can be helpful in developing your demographic information. You can use the Case Study found at the end of the syllabus, in the Ecomap tab on the left side of the online forum, from one of your human services books, or make up your own. If you use your own, you will need to make sure it is posted to the Assignment Folder with the rest of the items needed for this assignment.
