The educational milestone I plan to research is the establishment of Howard University in Washington D.C. which provided education for African American youth “in the liberal arts and sciences in 1867. As a graduate of a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), I am interested to research its beginning from where it all began to be one of the top HBCUs around and the importance of the early financial support that was provided by the Freedmen’s Bureau.
