Directions: This assignment requires you to review one scholarly article (from a peer-reviewed journal) that discuss the advantages and limitations for meeting the needs of vulnerable populations in terms of health inequities. You will utilize foundational information from Chapter 8 of the textbook.
1. Discuss briefly what is meant by health inequities and the challenges that vulnerable populations face as discussed on pages 186-199 of the textbook.
2. Find one scholarly article (in a peer-reviewed journal) on the advantages and limitations of programs and resources designed to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Are they adequate in addressing needs? Are they accessible to all who may need it?
3. Using your article as a source of information, research a program in your community that was designed to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Address specifically which population they serve, how successful they are in reducing health inequities and any limitations present. Lastly, if you were in charge of this program, would you make any changes to better meet the needs of those the program serves?
