What could be done to ensure all surveys are completed consistently?

The idea is to use a calculation that could be used to improve player performance.
In any sport/game, what type of statistical survey interests you with improving player performance in mind?
As intuition may have suggested, there are more points scored when you can get in the paint.
Our study also shows that shooting the 3 pointer is much more productive then settling for a mid range
