Write a paper learning different aspects of importance and challenges met by the software designers of these systems. When we reviewed different types of simulation environments that allow for practice, it was interesting to look at challenges faced by the people making these systems such as language interpretation, accuracy compared to real life, appropriate data collection, etc. When I look at EMR systems I find myself complaining about certain things. Recently me and another nurse were annoyed by a feature on our electronic charting system as it has so many additional information boxes that we do not use when documenting TPN administration. When thinking about this now in application to informatics and software design, though its not relevant to our facility, the software is used across many facilities meaning that it has to conform to a universal need for data collection and input, so although it may not be relevant or necessary in our hospital – it is likely used elsewhere.
