Men’s Health Research Paper

The final research paper should provide a health plan that emphasizes prevention of a common mens health concern.
1. Select one of the health concerns discussed in the course.
Examples include but are not limited to (any topics not covered in class must be pre-approved!):

Body image and its associated problems
Eating disorders in men
Erectile dysfunction and cardiovascular health or diabetes
Prostatitis and inflammation
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Prostate cancer
Male reproductive health and toxins

2. Identify the risk factor(s) associated with the health concern.
3. Find prevention-oriented supporting research in peer reviewed journal articles and/or academic/ professional resources.
4. Discuss ways to stay healthy naturally through diet, use of herbs, elimination of toxins through food, drink or other sources, mental health support, etc.
Writing Tip: Write your paper with the target audience of someone concerned about the particular health concern you chose because of their personal or family history and they are looking for suggestions for how to remain healthy. Remember, APA style requires third person.

Paper requirements: Your research paper should give a brief overview of your chosen health concern followed by a description of a preventative plan with findings and conclusions for increased health. It should be between 3 – 4 pages, typed, double spaced, written in APA style format, and have a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources cited. It must include a title page, an abstract (on its own page) and reference page (on its own page) and may also include appendices with supporting documentation, statistics, research, pictures, charts and/or graphs. Remember to write a concluding paragraph at the end of your paper.
