Instructions
Consider the western (Greek) myths of Theseus versus the Minotaur and Oedipus in light of Asian mythological thinking. Analyze them first from the possible standpoints of archetype or explanation, and then discuss how an eastern perspective might interpret these myths or even critique the ideas in them.
Review Myth as Archetype, Myth as Explanation, The Heros Great Deed, The Hero Beyond the West, and The Circle (Chapter 3).
