Choose one of the historical genocides we have covered this semester, and write a short first-person narrative from each of these perspectives (1-2 paragraphs each): perpetrator, bystander, resister, and victim (or survivor). What are the predominant thoughts/feelings of each of these parties? The goal is to try and understand the phenomenon from each vantage point in order to get the full picture. Conclude with a paragraph explaining the perspective to which you most relate.

Answer ONE of the questions below in two and a half to three single-spaced typed pages each. Please clearly indicate which question you are answering. You must use 12-point font with regular margins, and your essay should be saved as a .docx or .pdf file. Your answer should draw from the readings, class lectures and discussions and any relevant films. Use in-text references using the Chicago-Turabian style guide. If you use outside sources (such as a book or scholarly article), please attach a works cited page (not necessary if you stick to course-assigned readings.) Please note that these are analytical essays, not opinion papers. Your work must be original and you may not collaborate with classmates on your answers, although you are of course free to discuss the subject matter.
