WHAT AM I DOING?
You are writing a literary essay where you are expanding your close reading of one of the main characters (Creon, Antigone, Haemon, Ismene, Eurydice) in the play, Antigone, and develop an analysis about how the character demonstrates one of the larger themes. To do this, youll need to look closely at key monologues and metacommentaries from the chorus. Cite specific lines and describe in detail how they support your analysis.
To help you develop your analysis of how the character might resonate with the broader or current cultural context (social, political, historical), you may need to use other sources, which I totally encourage and welcome. Sources may include an academic or scholarly article, a news article, an interview with the author, or an expert familiar with the authors body of work.
Heres a link to Purdue Universitys Online Writing Lab aka OWL to help you think about the potential literary analysis essays for poetry:

HOW MANY WORDS?
600 -800 Words.
YOU MEAN YOU REALLY WANT ME TO CITE MY SOURCES MLA STYLE?
Yup. I sure do fam. Not a list of web links. A real MLA works cited page.
WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE AGAIN?
Just like this:
Serwer, Adam. “White Nationalism’s Deep American Roots.” The Atlantic. 14 Mar. 2019. Atlantic Media Company. Retrieved 21 Mar. 2019 .
Its a works cited.
