How do robot industries in science fiction manifest the Earth/planets civilizations? While robotic workers have taken over much of the worlds labor and become essential to the worldwide economy, the uncanny valley (see Chus Robot Rights) displays a negative reaction to the disturbing uncertainty of machine-being in human appearance. Examine the robots that exist among, side by side, within, or after humans in the stories (Yuns Danny, Parks Road Kill, Boks Along the Fragments of My Body, Kims On the Origins of Species, or TV drama Blink), and discuss the uncanniness or ambiguity of our civilizations when it comes to the nonhuman (or superhuman).
