Ancient Athens is often held up as the founder of western civilization, to what extent is this true? Argue from 3 concrete examples of Greek institutions, ideas, or products that are fundamental to our own and examples where this is not the case.

I was thinking of using my 3 examples as philosophy, democracy, and architecture. And examples where its not the case is the voting, duty of Athenian citizens vs western citizens, and how they used a direct democracy compared to the US representative democracy but cant think of other things if thats not what the question is looking for.
