Your assignment is to imagine that you are living in Paterson in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Your essay will be made up of a series of diary entries (5-7 entries in all) in the first-person in which you reflect upon your life as a Patersonian. Some information that you need to include about your character:
Name (You can make up a new identity)
Age
Occupation
Which part of the city do you live in? What is the neighborhood like?
Likes/Dislikes
Interests
Family life (are you married? Do you have children?)
Friends/Co-workers
Political situation in Paterson (and NJ) Whats happening in the news?
Please remember that the diary entries need to reflect the mores and culture of the time, rather than those of the twentieth-first century.
So where should you begin?

There is a lot of room for creativity, so use your imagination along with the research you do!
Requirements:Papers must be at least 900 words long.
Bibliography (Chicago/Turabian style) or Works Cited page (MLA style) must be included.
