he/she use? Give specific examples. I am not really interested in whether you enjoyed the book so much as your critical analysis of it. Do not make your engagement with the book the focus of your paper rather, write about the book. Make sure that your thematic tie-in is an important part of your paper. It is not enough to say, we havent discussed this particular bit of history in class yet, but I am looking forward to it. This part of the assignment needs to be more than just a brief paragraph. Look for patterns in history or ways that specific events, people, ideas were different from others that we have discussed. You need
to find those thematic ties. Do not throw away this part of the assignment. Do not refer to the book you are reading as a novel. It is a work of non-fiction.
