Write a historiography essay on relations between colonial powers and native Americans in the great lakes region from 17th-19th century. For my class, I originally had to write a review of Richard White’s “The Middle Ground.” Now, I have been tasked with finding several other reports and books on the subject (which I have attached below) and writing a historiography essay in which I summarize and analyze the different interpretations of the time period and relations between powers written by historians. I have attached a link to a google folder containing books and chapters relating to the subject, as well as a paper of mine for the same class so that you may see my writing style, as well as my teachers edits and critiques. Unfortunately, one of the main books I used (Richard White’s “The Middle Ground”) is unable to be found on JSTOR, Cambridge, etc. I just have the physical copy.
