Field of Study – Interview a professional in your field who does not work here at FTCC. Present the result of the interview in a short report. You will be using this information in you your report in the final project for this class. Please use the handout and checklist for this assignment located under Course Documents. [150 points]
Use all questions from the list of interview questions provided in the Course Documents.
Conduct an interview with a professional in your field of study outside FTCC.
Write up a short report after the interview using the template included in the Course Documents.
Remember that it has to read as a dialog, so word “I” in the answers is OK.
Please eidit the answers to confrom to standard English grammar.
Interview in your field of study
Description
Students will use primary sources to augment their research for the formal report and presentation. Students will interview an employer or an employee in their field of study and outside FTCC. Students must interview only one: an employer or an employee already working in that field.
Important steps to follow
Select the questions for the list of sample interview questions below
Contact your interviewee and as for permission to conduct the interview
E-mail your questions ahead of your scheduled appointment
Thank the interviewee for his or her time and avoid asking too many personal questions
Ensure your interviewee that you will not disclose any details or information beyond your English class and in the report you will write, you will respect your interviewee’s privacy.
The Assignment
Design a template with exact questions you plan to use – you may add your own. (Open Sample Document)
Update the information in the header: Your name, my name, course, etc.
Type your last name next to the page number (in the header)
Customize provided questions to ask your interviewee that pertain to his or her job. You must interview someone who is your specific field of study.
Do not ask where he or she is from or how many children he or she has. Questions must relate to the topic of your report and your field of work. (Sample Question List)
Follow the format on the templates to type your questions and answers. You do not have to type the words “question” or “answer” instead you may want to use “Q” or “A”, etc..
Type the questions and answers in complete sentences.
Proofread your work before submitting.
Do not use slang or texting.

MLA or APA format
Use one-inch margins.
Use a 12-point Times New Roman font.
Use double line spacing in the document
Grading Criteria
Follow MLA or APA format consistently 10%
Use proper sentence structure 25%
Do not use slang or texting – appropriate and formal style 10%
Submit one file editable document as your assignment by due date and in the proper location on BB 5%
