Explain how you will apply what you have learned from readings, discussions, and other assignment from this class in the future. Consider the numerous stories you have read about in Our Voices and the topics that have been covered in Understanding Intercultural Communication.

As a student of intercultural communication and a member of global and diverse society, it is important to take what youve learned and apply it to your personal and professional interactions. Perhaps you have already been applying course materials in your personal and/or professional lives. If so, you may include such experiences in your paper as evidence of the application.

Consider the selected learning outcomes for this course:

1. Investigate and interpret diverse, cross-cultural communication; (Goal Area 8.1)
5. Analyze specific international problems through the complex interactions between people of different cultures (including but not limited to socioeconomic, religious, political) (Goal Area 8.3)
6. Design plans that facilitate the constructive transfer of meaning in diverse cultures, thus helping diffuse conflict and misunderstanding; (Goal Area 8.3)
7. Analyze and apply ethical awareness and sensitivity required for communicating in diverse groups. (Goal Area 8.2)
Assignment Details

To successfully complete this assignment, you will write approximately one page about each of the learning outcomes listed above and discuss how you have or how you will apply what youve learned to your intercultural communication experiences, so the final paper will be 4-5 pages long. This is an opportunity to show how you have developed your communication competence and flexibility, specifically relating to intercultural communication.

It may be helpful to review the module reflections you’ve posted to help to recall topics and materials from earlier in the semester.
Consider what you have learned through engaging in small and large discussions.
Consider what you have learned through researching the current event for the response paper.
Consider the readings from both textbooks.
Consider all course materials.
Optional: Consider including research to support topics or ideas you will write about.

Write approximately 1 page about each of the four learning outcomes explaining what you have learned about each area.
Organize your paper, which should include the following sections (others as needed):
Introduction – provide an introduction to your topic and set the context;
Body (use your own heading here)
Organize the body of your paper using headings with the learning outcome or number of the learning outcome.
Subheadings as needed for each section in the body of the paper.
Conclusion – summarize the experience you have written about and provide closure to your paper
Reference page – This starts on a new page and must follow APA style (resources provided at the end of this assignment)
Cite your sources in the paper following APA style.
A title page is optional and is not required to be in APA style.
Format your paper, which should be typed, double-spaced, 12 point font, Time New Roman typeface.
Revise your draft.
Edit your paper and check that APA style citations are accurate in-text and on the reference page and include the textbooks.
Check that your final paper include the following:
The paper, formatted to the requirements of the assignment
Your reference page and in-text citations in APA style
Note: MLA style does not meet the requirements of this assignment
Review your assignment using the grading rubric provided to ensure all requirements have been addressed.
Submit your final polished paper using the submission button provided with this assignment.
