The legacy of the British Empire, good or bad, continues to this day. I could mention the ongoing mess that British policy helped create in various parts of the Middle East, or in Kashmir, or in various parts of Africa But we need not travel that far way from Englands shores. Its continued legacy can be found in Northern Ireland in April of 2021, which is experiencing renewed sectarian violence between Unionists and Republicans

Your final task and your final assignment/discussion board for this class will be to read the brief six-page New York Times article I am including on the recent troubles in Northern Ireland, and then briefly explain the events discussed in the article and reflect on how your time in this class has hopefully better allowed you to understand what is happening there today!
