Select a fashion company that you would like to analyze. It can be a clothing, footwear, or accessories brand. It must be a brand that makes at least some claims about sustainable practices.
Review the brand website and/or advertisements and look for answers to the following questions. (You may not find answers to all of these, but look for the answers you can find.)
Is there evidence that they treat workers and pay workers fairly and ethically at all steps of the fashion production cycle?
Is there evidence that they are using sustainable practices and materials?
Is there evidence that they are using sustainable production practices?
Do they produce at a sustainable rate?
Are they transparent about why they are making sustainability claims? Do they provide evidence to support what they claim and admit the need for improvement in ways that they are falling short?
What are their packaging policies?
What are their water use policies?
What are they doing to be sustainable with their stores and offices?
Do they have plans in place for the end of use of their products?
Are they making broad and general claims that cannot be supported?
Are advertising claims supported by independent third-party evaluators?
Are they collaborating with others outside of the company in their sustainability efforts?
Gather your answers from your research and consider your analysis in order to present your findings.

Use the Greenwashing Resources to help you make decisions about your brand.
Prepare the powerpoint that you will share with the class. Include the following points.
The Name of your brand
The specific claim or claims they are making
What is your evaluation of that claim?
Why did you decide that?
What score would you give this brand using the GOODonyou scoring?
Anything else you would like to include related to your research and analysis.
