Consider how the passage contributes to understanding of the theology of the New Testament and the character of God. Discussion on how the passage connects with the Sermon on the Mount is required.
Required to engage with various types of secondary literature (these are minimum requirements):
– 3 commentaries
– 2 background dictionary articles [I recommend the Dictionary of the New Testament Background, Evans and Porter (eds.), Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels: Second Edition, Green (ed.) Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary, Arnold (ed.).]
– 4 peer-reviewed articles.
Must be double-spaced; typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch (2.54cm) margins, using gender-inclusive language. The paper must follow Chicago style for footnotes and bibliography.
