Interview Questions: Develop a list of questions for the interview related to: type of disability, financial assistance available, unique needs, coping methods, personal values, beliefs, and attitudes encountered by professionals working with people with disabilities and/or family members, therapy methods/techniques used by the professional, issues that arise while in rehabilitation, stages the family and the person with the disability go through while learning to live with the disability, and/or any legal issues of concern while living with a disability. Also, please address the following:
* Persons name
* Date of contact
* Type of disability
* How was the disability acquired?
* What resources helped the person with the disability?
* How were resources paid?
* How did the person with the disability cope with the various stages of grief?
* What does the person with the disability recommend to others with their condition?
* What types of attitudes does this person with a disability encounter from society?
* What barriers does the person with a disability currently encounter?
* Your reaction to the interview (subjective)
Contact the PWD: Ask them for about 20-30 minutes of their time for a brief interview pertaining to having and living with a disability.
Interview: Follow your list of interview questions. Thank the person for their time.
Summary: Students will type a 3-page typed summary of the interview either in question/answer format or narrative format (your choice). The written report should be a minimum of (3 pages typed, double spaced, Times Roman 12 font, with 1-inch margins all around; include a title page).
