Daily food intake results in kcalories available for body needs, including physical activity and exercise. Energy input in excess of energy utilization can lead to obesity. Physical activity can directly expend food kcalories as well as increase basal metabolism by increasing metabolically active muscle tissue. For this week’s module, incorporate one new exercise into your routine and try to do it at least twice. Explain:
