Clara is 12 years old and in 7th grade. Clara works in the family restaurant daily (7 days a week, excluding holidays) from 5pm-11pm. She helps serve food, clean up, and manage reservations. Claras parents dont pay her, but she gets approx 20% of the tips pooled by the other servers. When Clara asks for a salary, her parents tell her that they provide her food, shelter and clothing, as well as education.
