This assignment should be prepared in essay format, two full pages in length. An obstacle course that includes crawling through a cement pipe, swinging across the grass holding onto a rope with both hands, and walking a narrow line drawn on the sidewalk has been planned for outdoor play. According to the information presented in Chapter 8, in your own words, provide a brief summary of the eight categories of motor tasks that apply to preschoolers. Category names may match those listed in the textbook, but descriptions of the categories and examples of motor tasks must be your own. Identify those that are included in the obstacle course and identify which categories are not included. Describe activities that could be added to the obstacle course that would provide additional physical development, specifically for those categories which were not addressed. Be sure to identify which category or categories the added activities would cover. Refer to your rubric to note point values allotted to each required element.
