The research paper must utilize a minimum of five (5) academic peer-reviewed sources, and students should present a thesis (an argument) within the paper and utilize their research sources in a manner that allows them to critically engage with the topic they are addressing. Students are also expected to incorporate elements of criminological or sociological theory to help contextualize their research findings, and demonstrate their critical thinking skills.
