Assume your client has a self-funded health plan with 2,500 active employees and 500 retirees. What are the advantages and disadvantages of spinning off the retirees into a retiree only plan? What documentation is needed?
Pre-existing condition exclusions were a huge issue for many people with chronic conditions, i.e., cancer, heart disease, etc. Some opponents of ACA would reinstate pre-existing conditions and reestablish high risk pools to address the issue. What are your thoughts about whether high risk pools work ?
