By this point, you should know what speciesism is and what it is not. You should also know why Singer believes that speciesism is seriously wrong. You should also know the kinds of practices Singer identifies as seriously speciesist and why he thinks they are wrong.
Rachels discusses some examples of the treatment of nonhuman animals in The Elements. These cases arouse strong feelings in some. Is it difficult to distinguish feelings from reasons? Is speciesism as seriously wrong as Rachels and Singer charge? If so, how ought we to live with regard to nonhuman animals?
