Final Essay Instructions:

The first thing youll need to do is choose exactly three pieces of British literature that we have read or will be reading during the course of the term. One should be from the Romantic Period, one from the Victorian Era, and one from the twentieth century. (I have attached the three stories I have chosen)

Your job (the topic of the research paper) will be to discuss the three items youve chosen and show how those items relate to one another. Interpret the meaning of the literature as you write, and make sure to reference specifics about the literary period into which each piece is categorized. Based on these three items alone, what kind of conclusions can you make about British literature since 1785? Do the three items fit with the prevailing notions of the time? If not, why might that be the case? You might even want to bring in current events to compare/contrast with the literary works in question. One caveat: Avoid writing a great deal about the authors lives.

The essay should be at least 8 pages long (Not including Works Cited)
Use MLA style throughout in Times New Roman 12.
Make sure you have a thesis near the end of your introduction.
Stick with third-person throughout your text (no I, you, we, us, etc.).
Include a heading and headers.
Double-space everything.
Quote and cite from each source at least once within your text. Sources include the literature weve read (each item is a separate entry) and any outside sources you decide to use.

I have attached already completed presentation, proposal and annotated bibliographies to assist. I have also attached copies of my sources. You may add or get rid of any that are necessary to help you. I have to have at least 5 sources (Not including my 3 literature stories).

There are two Holy Thursday’s written by William Blake. One was published in 1789 in a collection called Songs of Innocence.
One was published in 1794 in the collection Songs of Experience, this is the main one I would like to use. The Songs of Experience poems explore the harsh realities of the late 18th and early 19th centuries contrasting with with idealistic portrayal from Songs of Innocence poems.

Which I think fits well with my thesis that is written is: the hypocrisy demonstrated by religious leadership proved to be a strong influence for writers throughout the Romantic Period (1785-1832), Victorian Age (1830-1901), and the Twentieth/Twenty-First Century. Which is shown in my Proposal that I have uploaded. Which is based off my main idea of “How literature was influenced by the hypocrisy demonstrated throughout religious entities impacting these writers throughout these three periods. “
