Read the family case scenarios posted with this discussion. Select two of the families from the case scenarios. Read about each family and identify areas where the family might benefit from access to community resources.
Research at least one community resource for each family that will provide the needed support services (services for children with special needs, health or behavioral issues; parent education, family assistance programs) to children and their families. Possible sources include: county, hospital, Early Childhood Iowa, Local Hospitals, Community Action programs such as Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Grant Wood Area Education Agency or similar agencies, etc. Look for resources that are new to you and that are part of your home community. These must be LOCAL community resources from eastern Iowa or your home community.
Write a discussion post that included the following information for each family you choose:
Name of the case family
Type of Resource you identified (health, nutrition, housing, social service, recreation, etc) and why you identified that resources
List the full name of the service and the organization/agency that provides the service and the address of the agency
List web site and contact information including email and phone number
Provide a brief summary of the services provided by this resource
