Paragraph 1 (Intro): Identify the title of the speech and summarize it. Include any background information you find important. Write a three-point thesis that makes 3 points about the overall message of the speech. Paragraph 2: Discuss how the speaker conveys the overall message to the audience. Quote at least one supporting detail to develop your perspective.
Paragraph 3: Write about the strongest example or metaphor that is used to convey this message. Describe how it enhances the speech. Quote at least one supporting detail to develop your perspective.
Paragraph 4: Address one or two potential counterarguments to your view of the speech. Quote at least one supporting detail that strengthens your point.
Paragraph 5: (Conclusion) In your conclusion, include a “thesis restatement,” and then state whether the speech is effective. Did the speaker effectively supports the position and purpose of the speech?
