This is a Global Politics paper 2 exam where an essay must be written in an UNBIASED manner. Use as many resources as you need, citations are not required. The essay answers the prompt: “Examine the claim that human rights as presented in treaties and covenants are not enforceable, and are therefore of little importance to the vulnerable populations.” In the introduction you must define what human rights, treaties/covenants and vulnerable population. You must implement the key concepts of cultural relativism and universalism (REGARDING HUMAN RIGHTS), liberalism and realism throughout the entirety of the essay. In the body paragraph, there must be three claims and three counterclaims that are all supported by real life case studies that occurred in the 21st century. DO NOT USE HISTORICAL CASE STUDIES PLEASE. For example, a claim could be that treaties and covenants are not enforceable due to the ability to veto (including an example where veto stopped a treaty regarding human rights (linking to cultural relativism and universalism). A counter claim could be a case where a resolution/treaty/covenant passed and was beneficial towards human rights. Attached is the structure for the essay and the body paragraphs, however it should have 3 counter claims as well. In the conclusion, you must briefly summarize the points and explain the extent to which you agree with the claim (DO NOT USE FIRST PERSON). Attached is the rubric as well, I am aiming for the highest grade of 25. Also attached are the definitions of the key terms (critical theories and capitalism are not important).
